Triangle Heathens is an unaffiliated resource for Heathen (or Asatru) people in North Carolina's Research Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and their environs). As of Winter 2006 there are about two dozen Heathens in this area who attend events and participate in the local Heathen community in some fashion.
In addition to the many individual Heathens who participate in local activities, there are now two local Heathen organizations: Odainsacre Hearth in Raleigh (affiliated with the Odinic Rite), and Iðavelli Hof in Hillsborough (unaffiliated). Events hosted by both, as well as by other individuals and groups, will be listed in the calendar here once they are announced.
Please follow the calendar link on the left to see what is coming up in the next few months. In general, events with the exact time and location given are open to the public, and all who wish to honor the Gods and Goddesses in frith* are welcome to attend, as are respectful non-Heathens. The only people who are expressly not welcome are any who might try to distort our holy faith and symbols for racist or other exclusionary agendas.
Other resources available on this website include a list of useful Heathen texts in the library, and space where local artists may display their crafts (and offer contact info for special orders) in the craft fair. Of particular interest may be the Writings section where one may find the writings of local Heathens, including essays, poetry, and music - some songs with free downloads available!
